Definition of a HPO

A High Performance Organization is an organization that achieves results that are better than those of its peer group over a period of time of at least 5 to 10 years, by:

  • structuring the organisation so it can satisfy stakeholder needs at all times;
  • safeguarding a high quality of management and workforce;
  • rejuvenating itself continuously;
  • balancing a long-term orientation with short-term action-taking.
